Microdermabrasion is a treatment in which a very fine spray of crystals is blown
through a delicate hand piece onto the skin's surface. These crystals are then vacuumed across the skin to both remove dead and damaged skin cells and to stimulate collagen growth beneath the skin's surface.

Microdermabrasion is a powerful procedure that painlessly and gradually eliminates many of the effects of aging on the skin. Microdermabrasion is not a fad, it is the most effective tool we have to correct sun damaged skin, premature aging, scarring and most types of acne. Our main goal is to provide solutions and results in a graduated, gentle and non-invasive process.

With just one 45 minute treatment with Microdermabrasion, skin tone and texture is improved, and scarring is less noticeable. Microdermabrasion also regenerates the epidermal cell structure, resulting in a 30 percent increase in the skin's elasticity.

Constantly striding for ways to improve on her impressive results with Microdermabrasion, Sandi is now offering a new and exciting treatment known as "Microlift" therapy. This revolutionary technique lifts tones and firms the skin.

~Myth~
Any nurse or licensed aesthetician can perform the Microdermabrasion treatment effectively.

~Truth~
Believe it or not, the sale of Microdermabrasion equipment and training is not regulated. If the technician performing Microdermabrasion isn't experienced, there is a great chance they could work incorrectly, resulting in deep abrasion, needless discomfort and the possibility of lasting pigmentation or scarring. Sandi Dixon spends three months teaching and developing her staff at the "Clinical Skin Care" before they preform Microdermabrasion on any clients. Sandi ensures that each aesthetician that works on a client is trained to not only perfect the technique but to also learn proper and correct applications for various skin types and conditions.

~Myth~
Microdermabrasion isn't safe for ethnic skin.

~Truth~
The treatments are effective and completely safe on all skin types! Ethnic skin requires a certain amount of consideration and many people won't treat this group because the risk factor is so high, which excludes them from a lot of corrective work. Sandi believes Microdermabrasion, when performed correctly, is the best method or tool for treating ethnic skin.

~Myth~
Microdermabrasion and Dermabrasion are essentially the same thing.

~Truth~
There couldn't be two more completely different procedures. Dermabrasion is a surgical scraping of the skin using a rotating wire brush and requires anesthesia, it can only be done by a physician. Microdermabrasion is completely non-invasive and lightly increases cellular without harming the skin.

~Myth~
Microdermabrasion is like "sandblasting" the skin.

~Truth~
The procedure involves gently streaming fine crystal grains across the skin to remove the dead and damaged skin cells and to stimulate the collagen beneath the surface of the skin. If it is not performed correctly, it can feel harsh and abrasive like sandblasting! There should be no pain at all, if anything, it should feel relaxing, rejuvenating and refreshing. Microdermabrasion needs to be a part of a strategic, planned approach that includes a carefully selected interval time and frequency of treatments. "Sandblasting" the skin one time will not provide positive results.
