| Microdermabrasion |
A non-surgical, non-invasive process that offers safe and controlled skin abrasion. This procedure utilizes micro crystals of a high medical grade, which are propelled at a high volume and velocity across the skin surface to abrade the skin’s tissue. This technique is also known as the “Lunch-Time Peel” by Vogue and Elle magazines. This procedure is relatively painless and results are seen immediately with very little downtime. This procedure is good for all skin types. |

Microdermabrasion (Non-Crystal) Diamond Tip |
Microdermabrasion Diamond Tip offers all the advantages of the original Microdermabrasion but does not utilize crystals. The differences in the treatment will be discussed in your consultation. Microdermabrasion reduces the effect of aging on your skin. Years of sun exposure and the aging process take their toll, creating lines, wrinkles, and changes in texture and color. Along with the face, the neck, chest, cleavage, arms and hands may be affected as well.
Microdermabrasion reduces the appearance of fine lines, improves skin texture and color by removing the topmost layer of skin leaving it more supple and radiant. This treatment also stimulates the elastic tissue beneath the skin resulting in a healthier and more youthful appearance. Treatments are administered by our trained medical aestheticians. A wonderful alternative or compliment to chemical peels, a Microdermabrasion treatment is non-invasive, pain-free without downtime.
Clinical Skin Care Center uses the Diamond Tip system, which is more gentle and effective than other exfoliating systems, even at higher settings. The length of the treatment and number of treatments vary depending on skin type and condition. We recommend a series of 6-8 treatments for the best outcome. Results are gradual but highly effective. Most people experience softer, smoother skin after their first treatment. The Diamond Tip Microdermabrasion is safe, FDA approved and produces excellent results.

| Frequently Asked Questions |
How does Microdermabrasion work?
This procedure stimulates blood flow to the surface of the skin which increases oxygenation, causing an enhancement of cell renewal and collagen growth. The results causes skin to have a vibrant healthy glow.
Am I a good candidate for this treatment?
Most ideal candidates are busy people who don’t want the longer recovery times needed for laser resurfacing or chemical peels. Other ideal candidates are those sensitive to chemical peels or who don’t respond to acne medication, or those suffering melasma (blotches of skin pigmentation).
How many treatments will I need?
You will be given an assessment during your consultation. Treatments are usually performed in six or more sessions with the first three treatments being completed within seven to ten days, biweekly thereafter.
What should I expect after each treatment?
Results are noticeable after the first treatment. Skin may appear pink with a soft texture. More aggressive treatments may leave the treated area with a reddish appearance for up to 24 hours. Some clients may experience a light peeling after the more aggressive treatment. Clients may apply light cosmetics after treatment and should use sunscreen and avoid direct sun exposure for twelve hours after treatment. |

| Lumiderm LED Light |
Lumiderm photorejuvenation therapy uses light energy from an LED, or light emitting diodes. It’s the same form of light energy found in many digital displays. The technology helps restore skin to its peak cellular activity. When skin is exposed to these wavelengths of light, collagen regenerates and elasticity improves, giving skin a smoother, younger appearance.
Lumiderm also encourages the body to increase circulation and oxygen flow, which ultimately results in renewed and fresher-looking skin with less wrinkles. There’s no pain or recovery time because, unlike more invasive procedures such as lasers and chemical peels, Lumiderm doesn’t penetrate or injure the skin. |
| Frequently Asked Questions |
What is LED light therapy?
Light therapy is the application of light energy to the skin for therapeutic benefits. It is a natural photobiochemical reaction similar to the process of plant photosynethsis. NASA’s space program has proven that LED light therapy (near-infrared) promotes wound healing and human tissue growth. The energy delivered by the Light Emitting Diodes (LEDs) has been shown to enhance cellular metabolism, accelerate the repair and replenish-ment of damaged skin cells, as well as stimulate the production of collagen - the foundation of a healthy and smooth skin. A lot of research has shown that LED Light Therapy may help to smooth skin texture, improve skin firmness and resilience, increases the lymphatic system activity, restore skin’s natural cellular activity, reduce the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles and superficial hyperpigmentation. The treatment is for all skin types and it is non-ablative, non-invasive, painless and absolutely no downtime. Patients or clients can return to their normal activity immediately after the treatment.
Red & Infrared Light:
- Aids in circulation and moisture retention
- A complement to any skin care regimen
What skin conditions does Lumiderm treat?
Rosacea, sun damage, fine lines, wrinkles, crow’s feet, enlarged pores, and hyperpigmentation. Lumiderm is especially effective at reducing fine wrinkles around the eyes. Deep wrinkles, crevices and laugh lines are more difficult to treat. Clinical Skin Care Center combines this treatment with other laser procedures to address deeper lines. Six to eight treatments, once a week, are recommended.
Can Lumiderm treat Acne?
For people with minor acne, this is a great ongoing therapy. For bad acne, two treatments per week are required. For women with cyclical or hormonal acne, a treatment once a month is sufficient.
Can Rosacea be treated?
Since rosacea is very difficult to treat, Clinical Skin Care Center recommends alternating the Lumiderm with Photofacial treatments. Five or six treatments are generally required for good results. One session every week. For even better improvement, consider adding a rosacea facial, once a month, to the regime.
